My son got hit by a bicyclist in Boston today.
He called from the ambulance, on his way to hospital for stitches in his head. Says he is fine, no big deal. He was saved from serious injury because he fell on his bass! (Berklee student) I told him that's like the bullet hitting your pocket bible instead of your heart. I hope the bicyclist is OK too, she apparently wasn't wearing a helmet. Good vibes for both of them please!

1. Good thing he had one of these to fall on, they are soft (yet scaley)

But seriously, I am glad he is ok and good vibes sent to all.

11. Silly!
I bought him a shirt a while back that said on it "I'm a bass man", picture of a fish, ya know. I thought it was cute. I showed it to my husband who laughed hysterically. The B in bass was deliberately faded so it actually looked like " I'm a ass man". I gave it to him anyway, he thinks it's funny too!

5. Me too!
:-) Damn things are expensive! Bass is fine. I can't wait to tell his cousin, he gave his 6 string bass to my guy for Christmas about 5 years ago, never knowing it would one day save his life! :-)

10. Nice collection BTW
My son has an electric upright, it's very cool. He also has a 5, a 6 (the lifesaver) and a regular old 4 string bass. I would love to buy him a real upright but it is not going to fit in our ever more meager budget.

3. Electric or double?
Hope the bicyclist is okay and I'm glad that your son is fine. Berklee is in a very busy area and I'd expect to be dodging cars but not bikes!

7. Bicyclist will be ok too.
However, she was going the wrong way down a one way street, no helmet. Son got glued instead of stitched, I just spoke to him and he is fine. Whew.
