The fucking buses are CROWDED!! I remember coming home from downtown and I would have the bus to myself. Not anymore, though..standing room only. I guess I should be pleased with how green folks are being. Even if it means I have to stand in the aisle on the trip.

1. Live in Colorado Springs
I have pretty much put the car away except for necessary trips. My oldest had an eye appointment on the other side of town and with public transportation it would have taken 3 hours to get there. This includes walking to the bus stop and transfers. Nearest bus stop is 2 miles from my house, but the grocery store is a mile. I am a homemaker right now so I can pack my youngest in the stroller and head there for smaller trips. I also walk my other one to school, at least when it's not snowing.

2. I have to borrow a friend's bike
and as out-of-shape as I am, you'll see me on the side of the road huffing and puffing for air (asthma attack--left my nebulizer home).

4. I hear ya
The buses and subways here in LA are crowded too. I have to walk to either the first or last car on the subway to even have a chance of getting a seat...and I get on at the 2nd stop!

6. Lotsa newbs on my train too...
I'm happy to have them; more money into the system and more potential advocates for public trans. Now if they could just learn to stop crowding around the doors....

7. LOL
or learn to empty at the back of the bus instead of weaving around to the front door.
