Our Summer Guest Baseball Player arrived last night, and
boy, is he cute! He's 6'8" tall. He's a closer.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, a new Atlantic League team, plays its games at the new stadium that is less than a mile from my house. We're hosting one of the players for the summer. You know they don't make much money. He's our house guest.

I think I'm infatuated with him. He's tall and young and cute - and not nervous about staying with us. He's already made himself at home.

We're talkin' baseball...

this is the closest I'll ever get to being in the game, and I am so grateful.

PS He'll leave tix at will call for us at every game, so if you're in the DC area this summer . . .

23. You uncover so many secrets of the world on this website...
I too was unfamiliar with the "adopt a hot baseball player" program...and while I don't have an extra bedroom to spare in my house, I do have a perfectly suitable half of a queen sized bed for one. Cause...y'know pitchers have to keep their arms warm and stuff...

And since baseball is *our* national pastime, I feel duty bound as an American to lend out one half of my bed to a hot baseball player :patriot:

it went any farther than that. :)

I can't tell you how thrilled we were when we knew we were getting a player for sure. I was afraid "the gay thing" might keep him away.

32. It's minor league caliber, but not affiliated with The Show
http://www.atlanticleague.com/

"The Atlantic League has been created by seasoned professional baseball executives to bridge the future economic gaps in development baseball. The Atlantic League is funded by initial membership fees, league dues and league assessments. The Board of Directors of the AL is composed of representation of each member club. The AL has been in formation for the past four years working with cities and regions that are presently not being served by Major League or Minor League Baseball."

Brooks Robinson is part owner in four teams (I think it's 4).

we have a league here in western mass. that is the equivalent of the cape cod league. we have quality college players come here and play for a couple of months during the summer. they stay with families in the area and get work where they can.

He's a submariner

He was a Tarheel, and had the best ERA in the country - 1.71 - in 1999

And he's got dimples you could grow tomatoes in.

That first pic is scary. I wouldn't be fixin' to hit against a guy with 11-foot arms, especially if he's comin' from below decks. :scared:

Remember this guy? Same thing.

44. Okay, now memorize this Bull Durham quote...
Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hangin' curveball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent over-rated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.
