OTC supplements and employment drug test

I have to go in for a drug test tomorrow, but today because I didn't get alot of sleep I took and OTC diet pill that has ephedrine in it (a low dose of ephedrine with coffee helps me wake up when I'm short on sleep). It is a legal substance and can be bought otc, but can show up as a false positive for amphetamines.

How do I bring that situation up exactly? I don't want them to get the wrong idea about a urine test.

1. I've been using ephedra for years

and passed two drug tests with no problems. As I understand it, the dosage is too low. I take the 25mg dosage, too. You might want to ask, just as an aside, the drug test taker people to be sure.

... I am Union Rep and (in 4 years) we've never had a false positive at any of our worksites that have drug testing. Every single positive test was from an admitted drug user.

3. I have taken OTC diet pills with ephedra

and have passed many a drug test. As long as you are taking the daily recommended amount, I dont think you have to worry about it.

I took ephedrine HCL, which is the extract of ephedra. The recommended dose is 75mg/day of ephedrine, I took a single 12.5mg pill. So hopefully I'll be fine.

6. It didn't come up

The person who hired me was too busy today for me to get tested. I don't go back until sunday and by then my system will likely be clean. I doubt 12mg of ephedrine will hang around for 3 days. So I should be fine.
