throttled up 110% ;)

I still loved the show, even if I watched it from a friend's archive after it had all aired.

Sheriff Truman: Jelly donuts?
Dale Cooper: Harry, that goes without saying.

imdb.com rates Twin Peaks at 9.5 out of 10. I've never seen anything, movie or TV show, that high!

28. That adds a whole new dimension of strange to it
Maybe the reason the show is so disturbing is a combination of the over-the-top acting, the minimal set and lighting design, the anachronistic clothing, and the exaggerated laugh track for jokes that aren't funny. They combine to make a show that is almost dreamlike.

Any hope of it not being a bad show went out the window when they cast Edie McClurg. If she is in a show, it is by definition bad television.

37. This is the WINNER
My Mother The Car

It's 1965 - It's creepy......

Rein-CAR-nation at its worst. Jerry VanDyke played Dave Crabtree. Dave's mother dies. Mother returns (reincarnates) as a 1928 Porter Convertible... He finds the car on a used car lot on Mother's Day.

Everything about this show from Jerry VanDyke's terrible acting to Ann Sothern's playing the voice of the car who, coincidentally, will only speak to Dave when he is alone... It is pretty much the same as the Mr. Ed effect.

Here is a clip from the show - the theme song with the lyrics and bouncing ball : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__xQl55xVzo&feature=related

headed by Serrin Foster. Sweet woman, really believes in the work she's doing. I met her when I was in college and she came to speak on campus. She's out of her friggin' gourd though.

Lectures follow a theme: <:Feminism is anti-abortion, all those feminists who are for abortion are misled, because abortion hurts women, no woman would choose abortion willingly, even the founders of feminism such as Susan B. Anthony were anti-abortion:>

BTW. These symbols (<:,:>) mean repeat. She talks in circles over and over and over.

82. Twilight Zone gets my vote
I was 10 in 1965 when it was on, and I slept under my bed or in my closet when I could sleep at all! My parents eventually cut me off, much to my distress.

Now when I watch it, I can only marvel at how well it caught the zeitgeist. Rod Serling used brilliant symbolism to mirror the social issues of his day, and his melodramatic narrations just added to the creepiness, anxiety and unease the show evoked. Young people can dismiss it as corny; but if you were there, it had a profound affect on you.

Darkest show on TV.

Season 1 was gold. Unfortunately, Chris Carter handed it over so he could focus on x-files and after that it went downhill. Season 2 was a pale reflection of the glory days of Season 1. Season 3 was like watching a completely different - crappy - show.
