Ah, the joys of teaching 12-year-olds. We are currently doing a unit on satire; I was getting suggestions for important issues we could satirize when one of my students raised his hand and said the following:

"John McCain needs to stop raping little black boys."

He didn't understand why that might not be an appropriate comment. :grr:

This job is much, MUCH better than working retail, but sometimes I hate it.

What a difficult age. When I was that age, every word someone said could be turned into something sexual. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be 12 today with all the attention sex gets in the media.
