I need to send out a very big thank you to my fellow Loungers
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 01:30 AM by Connonym
I posted something earlier today when I was feeling really distraught and I've received so many beautiful offers of help from you guys and I'm afraid that my post seemed like I was asking for a handout and I truly was not, I was just venting but it brings tears to my eyes that so many people were generous in offering help. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all for being so sweet. I'm ok and I was able to take care of the situation with some help from my mom. Thank you everyone. You are the BEST.

1. My dear Connonym...
You never need to worry about asking for help here, sweetie...

I'm so glad you were able to take care of the situation with your mom's help...

2. Sorry, I missed your post
but am glad to hear that you have resolved your situation! DUers are good people to have as friends! Good luck with whatever it was you have going on in your life. It's nice to know that even though we are 'online buddies" that we can be more than that. Hopefully I can catch you when you need me!

3. your situation isn't just yours
a lot of people, especially females, don't have the sorts of jobs that make them impervious to financial hard times. and I doubt that anyone thought you were asking for a "handout."

When ppl have hard times, we need to help each other, and we need to be able to accept help - that's the hardest part - because this society judges people with hard times. -- which makes times harder for those experiencing them. Yes, your mom is there, but not everyone has that resource and it's no shame to acknowledge our interdependence. Sometimes it's important for people to be able to help others when they can - that's what builds a sense of community, imo.

I think I should win the powerball (but I'd have to buy a ticket, I guess) so that I could start a DUer fund for ppl who are in a tough spot. Oh, and that commune Proles was planning. And a nekkid yoga studio for Turtlesue. And a Led Zep reunion tour in the living room of that woman with all those quizzes... :)

4. I didn't see it as a handout request at all
Many of the problems you're facing cannot be "fixed" by us here on the board. We *can* help with one particular issue and that is your keyboard. Just our way of trying to alleviate some of the stress you're under.

We all want to make it all better...

:)
