4. True... I thought they were clever not asking for a SSN
That helps "build trust" since the warnings about fraud and identity theft all mention the SSN issue. I imagine the follow up email, if I was goofy enough to respond, would indeed ask for the almighty SSN.

It is interesting to see how these things evolve. I can't believe people fall for it though. But then, * does still have a 17% approval rating so there are still many stupid people out there.
