This is scary. One the teachers who taught Lelapin in HS

"was arrested and charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl." This was in the mid-late 90's. Lelapin was there 2001-2005. Apparently the police believe there were more victims and have asked them to come forward.

2. Who knows why it took this long to arrest him...

maybe the victim had trouble coming forward... maybe they needed more evidence... it makes me sad to think how often this stuff goes unpunished.

5. I don't want to speculate

but it *could* be a statutory rape case. Without all the facts it's hard to know if it was even remotely consensual, but still, he was her teacher and she was 15. It's wrong no matter what the circumstances...

Maybe she just found the courage to come forward.

6. There was a teacher in my high school

who targeted troubled girls for seduction for decades. I was pretty naive in high school, but even I could see that he was inappropriate with some of the girls, and there were always rumors.

Finally, in the mid 1980s, about 15 years after I graduated from high school, he was fired for sexual involvement with a student.

My parents were shocked, since they had been acquainted with him, although not close friends or anything.

But both my brothers and I reacted with, "I KNEW it!"

7. I met him at the annual open house

arrogant man. Had a bad feeling about him. Lelapin didn't like him either but couldn't exactly say why. Just a gut feeling we both had.

3. TWO of my baby sister's HS teachers were busted for being pedos.

Her JROTC teacher (she had no interest in going into the military, that was the only PE opening that worked with her schedule, please don't get me started) was caught banging a student in his SUV near campus (the girl was in my sister's class, and had a reputation for being the teacher's pet, evidently there was an ongoing relationship) and her English teacher got caught in one of those internet stings where a cop pretends to be a teenage girl and gets the guy to show up for sex.

:scared: That IS scary. Something similar happened with my seventh-grade English teacher - when I was in eleventh or twelfth grade, he was busted as part of some kind of sex ring at the local YMCA. :scared: Creepy.
