Shaved kitty
Sterling got a lion cut last month. It's finally growing in so he doesn't look quite so funny. But still, any shaved Persian looks silly, right?

3. HE... HE....
Everyone always calls Sterling a girl. I guess just because he's so pretty!

He actually likes being shaved, because he can feel being petted better.

13. A naked mole rat
My son has occasionally bugged me wanting one for a pet, after watching a few too many episodes of "Kim Possible" at grandma's house. Apparently the main boy character in that cartoon has one...

8. If this guy has 7 toes on each foot
...then I'll know my beloved Chuckanut has reincarnated and found a good home. That looks EXACTLY like my kitty who was with me for almost 16 years. He had to be put to sleep a few years back...I still miss my lil' bud.
Your picture made me sad...I think I will go hug my old dog Karma now...she is gettin on in years too.

22. Riff Raff dpes not allow me to examine his toes
I don't THINK he's got extra toes but I will check when I see him (am out of town).
I hear you on the pets we loved and lost; they do seem to take pieces of our hearts with them

9. Sterling gets shaved every year during his annual vet visit
Last year, he had his teeth cleaned, so they did it while he was still under sedation. This year, it took them several hours to shave him, because they would shave some, then give him a break, then shave more. He seemed to do fine with it. He really does like being shaved better, as his skin is more sensitive and he can feel getting petted better. He really is an affection 'hound' right after he gets shaved.

14. My sister had to have it done on her long hair kitty
After her hair got terribly matted. It was awful. And as pissed as her kitty (the totally ironically named "precious") was after being shaved, I think she was happy to have the mats gone too.

15. lol Precious
okay I get it then. I'm glad to know there is a reason for it, I honestly thought from the 2 or 3 of pics I've seen that it was cat cruelty :o

16. I've had to do it every year since I moved to Colorado
He gets this really thick undercoat in the winter, and it's impossible to keep it from matting. So every spring (sometimes earlier), he gets shaved.

20. Too cute! He a gorgeous cat always
I've had my kitty shaved the last two summers. She doesn't mind it (after the initial procedure, of course). I was surprised she has such long legs after only seeing her as a self-propelled dust mop.
