I have no interest in mountain climbing. I have no interest in reading the books. I have no interest in watching the movies. I have no interest in the PBS specials. I have no interest in any part of it and I probably never will.

What's your absolutely no interest?

My in-laws love casinos, they took us for a depressing waste of a weekend to Atlantic City once and they've talked for years about a trip to Las Vegas. I will say NO though, they're used to bullying me but I will stay home alone.

131. when we vacation, there is always ONE THING that is the reason for the location
then we each make a list of the things we want to do beside that, and compare
and then choose our initial "itinerary"..however we ALWAYS discover something on the way or after we get there that we either didn't know about at all or didn't catch our interest during the research phase ...and that something often turns out to be the highlight of the trip.

we love back roads, national parks, scenic wonders, and we also love tourist traps, but not things like amusement parks..more like quirky points of interest.

We are old cavers, he is a geologist, we are both voracious readers and love the unusual. We also love art, and steam trains and the beach. So our vacations are eclectic

118. Unfortunately my in-laws moved there. We have to go visit.
As pointless a town as I can remember, and 110 degrees every day, too, over Labor Day.

If you don't like casinos (they love the slots and the cheap buffets) there is not much to do. It is not a beautiful part of the desert, just flat and bleak. My in-laws basically run from one air-conditioned environment to another. They live indoors.

The casinos all reek of cigarette smoke, too, just to make the indoor environment more unpleasant. There are supposedly good restaurants, and some of the shows might be worthwhile, if you are into that sort of thing.

on a ship no matter how nice, you're still stuck. My sister went on one of those Big Red boat cruises through Disney and she said she even though the ship was nice and the food was good she wanted to jump over the rail ofter 2 days--and she likes people waaaaayy more than i do.

I am a city girl, i like the noise and the rush and going to museums, thats my idea of a wonderful vacation.

31. The city - and pretty much anywhere you are in a city you'd be able to leave it if
you didn't like it. Whenever I think of a Disney Cruise, I can't help but imagine a miniature Disney World tucked INSIDE the ship. I assume that's not the case, but if things really got bad enough crowd-wise I'd be tempted to take my chances with the sharks.

It was a Big Red Boat many years ago.

The fresh fruit all the time was great. It was an old ship with totally inadequate elevators. Eating all that healthy food and running up and down 7 floors of stairs was good for me!!!

I love to read. AND I love people and human interest stories. But I feel like I'm reading someone's diary when they send me a link to their blog.

Sometimes I hit upon one based on a particular subject (cooking or something) and I find those informative rather than invasive. Other than that, I just don't get it.

105. Social networking sites in general are really creepy.
And what's scary is that employers, colleges, and so on are using the content on these sites to weed out potential applicants. :scared:

68. Of the things that have been mentioned: most of them
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 09:26 AM by Lydia Leftcoast
I am SO out of touch with American pop culture now, and I've never, ever liked pro sports, or even amateur team sports.

I also think that Brie is disgusting. I like most cheese, but during the 1980s, you couldn't go to a party without someone serving the stuff and all the guests squealing with delight.

However, sex and Japanese food are two of life's great pleasures.

I work at UNC, so it's a big topic of conversation. I could give a shit.
I feel like the only person in the state who doesn't watch basketball during the ACC
tournament and the play offs. At least the malls are empty. That's my big time to go shopping,
during major sporting events. ;)

101. It is the one true American sport
it is a dance of 10

If you have no choice and are caught watching basketball-watchthe fould line. It is some weird thing but you will be amazed at how many times the ball passes free across the foul line...well it would but one of the rules of basketball is that you always have to have guy on or within an armslength of the foul line, mostly on defense.

this concludes today's lesson

Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 05:36 PM by Dulcinea
My mom got me one for Christmas. It was this hideous thing with some imitation designer logo all over it. Ugh! I gave it to a consignment store & got $40 for it. Designer fakes are for poseurs. I'll stick with my vintage REAL Coach classic black leather purse, thank you very much.

Add to that reality TV, Britney Spears (why doesn't she just wrap her car around a utility pole & get it over with?), NASCAR, & Starbucks.

117. Granite Countertops and Stainless Steel kitchen appliances.
I am fairly certain I would not want them even if I had an unlimited kitchen renewal budget. Also super high grade wood cabinets.

I am planning a kitchen redo and I want Thermofoil finish due to its ease of maintenance, so why spend bunches of $$ on hardwood that won't show?

I happen to really LIKE white appliances, and my kitchen is small and doesn't get much natural light so the white helps make the room look larger.

If you really don't like your counter top choice after it is in there, at least if it is laminate you can afford to change it out.
