Weird movies. Husband rented "The Ten"
Okay, this is not typical movie fare.

I like seeing stuff that is a few blocks off main street. Any recommendations?

1. Anything by David Lynch, of course.
Especially his most recent, Inland Empire. Total mindfuck, haha.

Gozu, a Japanese Yakuza horror comedy by Takashi Miike.

Element of Crime, a great neo-noir mystery by Lars von Trier.

The American Astronaut, a musical space-western.

4. Haha, yeah, musical space western. It's odd, but damn good.
And Inland Empire is a 3-hour surrealist masterpiece.

3. We've watched more foreign stuff today than American
The original Japanese version of "Shall We Dance," "Sophie Scholl," and "Unbeatable Banzuke" on G4.

"Unbeatable Banzuke is just a messed up Japanese game show, though. I've become addicted to that and "Ninja Warrior." You know it's bad when you get to know repeat Ninja Warrior competitors.

5. "The Draughtsman's Contract." Like "Dangerous Liasons" on acid.
Peter Greenway film (also did "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover").

6. Peter Greenway? 'Nuff Said
The Cook, The Thief... creeped me out. Helen Mirren is just brilliant.

7. "Forbidden Zone." Actually, a total hoot. But definitely weird.
