8. I think someone should make an lolcat out of this pic
This is one of my cats. He had surgery (tumor between his shoulder blades) and kept ripping apart the bandage and then the stitches (had the incision re-stitched once) with his back claws. I bought him a sweater and it doesn't rip quite as easily, he can walk easier in it, and he can't scratch the stitches or lick off the ointment I have to put on it. He likes it much better but I'm sure he'll be glad when he doesn't have to wear it anymore!

Doesn't he look happy?

9. Poor little guy...
Bet he'll be glad not to have to wear the sweater; probably sets his fur all going the wrong way. But that's a lot easier on him than bandages...

Thanks for opening my mind a bit.

Went to Petsmart to get toys for the monsters, and was AMAZED at the amount of cat clothing available.
:wow: :wtf:
For breeds like the Sphynx, I can see where they might need it, especially in the winter...but otherwise it seems it would just be something 'cute' that Fluffy would have to put up with.

I try not to interfere with my guys' 'catliness' any more than I absolutely have to...spay/neutering, shots, acceptable social behavior- like no clawing the furniture, human hands are not toys for disembowelling, the litterbox is where you put that stuff..that sort of thing...

13. I can't imagine making my cats wear clothes on a regular basis!
They'd be shredding them to pieces and I'd go broke. But he has been in bandages or this sweater for almost three weeks. The incision is in a bad place -- he can reach it with his back claws and scratch away. It was either a sweater or I keep replacing the bandage every few days. I think this is a lot less constricting. Just a few more days and the stitches come out and hopefully everything will be okay.

15. yes it is
I took some pictures of him with the hood on. He looks hilarious but won't hold very still. He tolerates the clothes but the hood up is NOT good. When he walks around he looks so dang cute that once he's healed I'll have to put the sweater back on him once in a while for a good laugh. :D

21. Awww.
I assume his sweater is actually a small dog sweater. If you go to pet shops you see a lot of dog clothes but no cat clothes.

I wonder why that is?

23. yeah, it is for dogs
I live in South Korea and I think everyone here has a small dog that they dress up in clothes. But they also dye their dog's fur crazy colors: hot pink tail and bright yellow ears for example.

I threatened my other cats that I was gonna buy them sweaters and have a family picture. Maybe send it out in Christmas cards next year. Some how I don't think that would go over well.

16. he is happy!
I mean he's lucky, he should be happy- someone's getting his surgeries! cat's aren't appreciative enough I don't think. That sounds scary him ripping his stitches, I'm glad he's okay now.
He looks super-fly in his hoodie :headbang:
