cool party idea for singles

Elfwitch's offering herself up as a Yenta reminded me of this party idea I've heard of. If I were single, I'd do it.

Basically, you invite a whole bunch of single friends, and have them each invite a friend (for heteros... a member of the opposite sex; for homosexuals, member of the same) whom they think is a great person, but that they're not at all attracted to. Most people have a friend that they think would be great for someone else, just not themselves. Anyways, at a party with lots of people who would be "great for someone else", people might enjoy getting to know each other's dates.

I hope that doesn't sound too confusing. It reads weird to me.
