"Thomas" is also certain that my house will sell in June and even better, I'll have a job by March! :woohoo:

Has anybody else had experience with the Ouija board? I don't mean to say that I believe the thing works, but what say you?

4. Yeah, so do I.
Interesting about your dad. I've heard that if you make yourself available to contact by "spirits" you might end up being approached by something evil. It scared me as a kid but didn't stop me from messing with the board. :hi:

5. well there you have it, hehe!
I think the force of everyone's minds' makes the thing move. I'm a skeptic about everything but I do think people's brains have that much power.. or whatever, I don't know how to say it.. But the results it got could totally be right, I think, for reasons I don't know how to explain!

We used to play with one a lot when I was in highschool. I have one in the basement now I think! very very dusty

For what it is worth: I am absolutely and unashamedly a believer in the teachings of Michael.

8. I wish I could have such communications...
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 10:23 AM by chknltl
...for most of us this is not to be. Just like most of us will never get an Olympic Gold Medal...only a very few are wired in such a way that they can gain deliberate access to spirits such as Michael. There are other methods besides the Ouija board too. If by "spooky" you suggest "fear", be not afraid, they seek only to offer guideposts, telling you how to live is a direct contradiction to their tasks. It would be like you telling a child that there is only a single path which MUST be followed. (And worse expecting that child to follow the given path!!!) They are not seeking worshipers or followers, they offer only information and they do so freely. Michael is not everyone's cup of tea, nor should it be. I have found much that enhances my own life through the teachings. Wiki has more on Messages From Michael should you wish to investigate further.

12. You are quite welcome
Where has the Michael teachings helped me? The knowledge that there is some kind of afterlife is a great comfort to all believers, regardless of where that bit of knowledge comes from. For many people, there are bits and snags of memories from prior lives...in my case I wanted to understand those memories, were they real or just very realistic yet odd imaginings. The Michael Teachings convinced me that they were as I had suspected all along: quite real.

Since then I have gained a great deal from the teachings which I feel has affected me in a positive way. Good luck to you in your researches.

10. I prefer to use a "witch board"
It's is more protected. (When you open the door to the Other Side using something like the Ouija board, decent entities can come through, but there's also always the chance that not-so-nice critters can come in and mess with you and, worse, take up residence.) But either way, witch board (which, by the way, is a homemade round board with major protection on/in it) or Ouija board, I've had some great clear messages and some very muddy, boring evenings.

I like what your entity has to say, though! Did Thomas say who would win? Congrats on the future house and job! :hi:

13. The congratulations may be premature!
But thank you. No, Thomas didn't say who would win. We'll know Thomas is a stinking liar if Clinton gets the nomination, heheh.

I've heard about the bad entities but never heard of a witch board. Gonna look it up! :D

17. :)
I think people are subconsiously moving the planchette.
I worry a bit about Michael because it's someone schooled
as a a psychologist/publicist making the claims. That's
enough to make me skeptical of this - but I don't claim
to know everything.

27. interesting
Not defending my own assertions here, I wanted you to know that I feel you make a good point, one I'll not argue against. I suppose in the end, it comes down to faith in my case. Things I have experienced in my own life combined with what is written in those books reinforces that belief. Yes, a good psychologist can do that...in this particular case it would be a VERY imaginative psychologist, but that too is easily possible. If indeed the writer, has perpetrated a hoax, at least this hoax provides a very detailed analysis of why people act the way they do, giving the followers of the hoax a means for dealing with those actions.

One thing though, if the writer IS actually recording things as opposed to making stuff up, there have then been some very interesting validations. As a for instance, (one I AM making up), if you were told by Michael that you made violins in a prior life and that one of your instruments was at a museum in Petersburg Russia and should you go there and break it open you will find your signature written in a spot unsee-able until the violin was broken.... well you see how that might sway folks into thinking that this Michael thing may be more than simple parlor tricks. There are such examples in those books
but as Michael points out, it is up to the reader to validate anything said...should you choose NOT to validate anything, should you choose to disbelieve everything said by Michael, that is the right choice as well.

Still this might be a huge con job...we are all susceptible.

30. I don't think anyone has said that to me before
Thank you.

I want to add that this woman is not only skilled in determining
psychological reasons that people may want to hear certain things,
but she is also a skilled communicator. We saw how a skilled
communicator (Rove) swayed millions of average folks.

I neither believe nor disbelieve in Michael. I'm a somewhat
skilled illusionist. I do know a way that the circumstance
you describe with the violin can be done in the natural world.
I think that is a more satisfactory answer than bringing
the supernatural into it.

I guess I feel like if the supernatural exists, perhaps humans
are not an adequate conduit to receive that. It still gets in
my way that this woman has experience in skilled communication
of psychological needs.

The best to you in your spiritual journey.

technically they are "talking boards" with Ouija being the most well known (kind of like tissue and Kleenex), but I only appreciate them as objects, not as some some kind of "oowoowoo path to the invisible world"

19. Just remember, the Ouija board also possessed Linda Blair
It made ther projectile vomit pea soup and spin her head around. So remember, when you're busy looking silly projectle vomiting pea soup and your head is spinning around like a top, that you just had to know who was going to be the final nominees in the election 6 months in advance, instead of witing to find out like everyone else who remained unpossessed did.

31. I know, right?
I used to have one that I bought at a garage sale.
It was beautiful - hand crafted wood, all that. I
got it only for its beauty.

My horrible ex found it one day and broke it over
his knee and put it in the trash because it was
so evil. Turns out, he was evil.
