23. I have some BIG problems with that part of it.

If the Patriots drive Eli to the ground, they get flagged for 15 yards for roughing the QB. The refs really ate their whistle on that one, and the play should have been blown dead by that point. This is a big pet-peeve of mine not just in this game, but throughout the NFL, where protecting the QB is very, very inconsistently called and it continually leads to escape plays like Eli's.

Disclaimer - Patriots did not deserve to win, and I am in no way saying they should have if not for the refs.

It was the play from start to finish. How he got away in an almost impossible fashion, to how he got himself set and composed, to how he was able to get such a good throw off, to how all of a sudden, with no receivers in site as the camera's panning the ball in flight, Tyree comes into view and you see the ball fall into his hands, as he clutches it to his helmet, falls to the ground with his back bent, and holds onto the ball. No flags. Completion. Jaws dropping. Best. Play. Ever.

The NFL has been very inconsistent on this matter. If the Warren drives Manning to the ground, he'd be flagging for roughing the QB. And yet they don't blow the whistle when he is being held up. The grey area is far too much.

The Pittsburgh Steelers trailed the Oakland Raiders 7-6, facing fourth-and-10 on their own 40-yard line with 22 seconds remaining in the game and no time-outs. It was a game winning play.

That being said, what Eli Manning and David Tyree did was nothing short of spectacular. Possibly the most exiting play in Super Bowl history.
