I think I strained my back at work this weekend.
xccc (that xccc is what my cat "flea Taxi" just typed in as he walked across the keyboard, I thought I should leave it)

I had to lift a tire up on a test machine that weighed 60 pounds & was mounted on a test rim that weighed 86 pounds. I did it twice this weekend & now my back is giving me trouble. We have a lift but it is broken, they needed to test the tires this weekend so I foolishly did it by hand.
I am going to refrain from doing that in the future, either they fix the equipment or the boss can put it on the machine.

BTW- I don't think it is serious, just strained.

1. I sure hope it is not serious. I wouldn't do that again either. nt

2. report it to your employer
so it goes on the Workers comp record. That way, if it turns out to be MORE than "just a strain" - you've already reported it.

3. I will have to do that.
It didn't start hurting until this morning & I did the lifting on Saturday. I am also noticing bruises where the tire was resting on my arm. I guess I am not twenty years old anymore.

The good thing is that this isn't my day to day job, I am on loan to this department temporarily. (I used to do the job five years ago & they needed help)
