PIX: I found a starfish, some red coral, a natural sponge, & saw some dolphins
in a 90 minute walk on the (very cold) beach in NC yesterday.

I will show you, if you want.

The beach:

From a shell's point of view:

The red coral (it was hard and brittle) and the starfish (it was not alive):

The dolphins:

Seagulls under the moon:

'Natural' hieroglyphics:

A sea sponge (it was soft-ish):

Hope you enjoyed them. It was beautiful and exhilarating. :hi:

8. the outer banks are glorious and
you probably know to take plenty of mosquito repellant for an August visit, but I'll repeat it anyway :hi:

4. How beautiful.
I love sea shells and there's nothing like an empty beach for bringing out the romantic in me.

15. It was around 40 degrees
but depending on where you are, that might be warm. I had on 3 sweatshirts and heavy coat. And gloves and a hat. The gloves totally muck up the ability to manipulate the camera!

16. Those are BEAUTIFUL!
I would have them hanging all over my house. Those are just...breathtaking! You should email your state's tourism board and ask if they buy or just take pictures. Those would be great advertising for NC!

22. Fantastic Pictures
Reminds me of growing up in South Carolina and spending summers at Edisto Beach. So many shells and watching from my bedroom window the ships come up over the horizon heading toward the port at Charleston and the sky filled with stars. Simply beautiful photos, especially the one from the shells point of view. Thanks for sharing!

24. My dear Lex!
Very nice!

How lucky you are to have all those wonderful things on your beaches...

Our beaches just don't!

A bit of seaweed now and then, if we're lucky!

And if I may, a small suggestion: Your close-ups are very nice, but they could do with a bit of cropping to make the item more prominent...

Keep 'em coming!

28. thanks
but I think if I cropped some of them closer, the perspective of just what the subject is becomes difficult to discern

but these were just for fun anyway

I'm wondering if it washed up in the gulf stream. Regardless, I'm deeply envious!
