Question about my wireless internet home connection, please?
In our house we have 2 laptops hooked up to the wireless internet connection. Up to now, no problems with anything.
All of a sudden my laptop refuses to connect to the internet and after running a diagnostic it says the router "is incompatible."
The other laptop is still connecting just fine.
Did the router go bad? (I've rebooted it and still have the same problem.) Is it weird that 1 laptop is still fine and the other suddenly doesn't connect to the router? Should I just go get a new router and hook it up? Or try something else first?
Thank you for any nuggets of wisdom you might have. :hi:
5. If one is connecting it is doubtful that it is the router
If it is only the wireless connection that is troublesome, delete it and install a new one (assuming your running windows) from your network connections folder.
6. What kind of wireless card do you have in the non-connecting laptop?
Can you run a diagnostic on your wireless card? If the other laptop is connecting to the router, then the problem is probably in the laptop that's not connecting.
