Robber Accidentally Shoots Self In Testicle - Crime really doesn't pay

KOKOMO, Ind. -- A man accidentally shot himself in the genitals while robbing a convenience store in Indiana, according to police.

Investigators said Derrick Kosch walked into a Village Pantry store located at 100 N. Ohio St. carrying a semiautomatic handgun and grabbed a female clerk's hair.

However, as the woman was getting the demanded money and cigarettes, Kosch put the gun in his waistband and it fired, striking him in the genitals, according to the report.

"A bullet traveled through his right testicle, then out and then into the bottom part of his leg," Kokomo police Lt. Don Whitehead said.

Surveillance video inside the store showed Kosch shooting himself before he staggered out of the store.
