Favorite Star Trek episode from ANY series....
I have always been much more of a TNG fan than any of the other series, so without a doubt its "The Best of Both Worlds". Although for sheer humor I have always enjoyed many of the Q episodes with my favorite being "Q-Pid" (the Robin Hood one)

I also like the Spider Queen of something or other wotsit from Voyager.

I'm really enthused, can you tell?

8. Yup. The final scene was beautiful.
The contrast of the song and the thrum of the ship's engines - Picard's two lives.

Two others where Patrick strutted his stuff: The Measure of a Man and Yesterday's Enterprise.

38. I couldn't suspend my disbelief for that one
A culture whose crowning achievement is getting a rocket off the ground is able to incorporate sophisticated technology capable of penetrating the Enterprise's shields and creating a mental link with Picard to share with him the life of someone on their planet. Other than that, it was very well acted.

6. TNG "Yesterday's Enterprise"
The episode throws you into an alternate time-line with little or no warning.

"I, Borg" makes you look the old enemy in the eye, and after years of terror, asks you whether you can still hate. It's wonderful.

TOS "Requiem for Methuselah" is standard cheesy Trek until the very end, when the heart-broken and exhausted Kirk falls asleep. McCoy's hateful little speech to Spock about his Vulcan lack of emotion sets up a beautiful final moment.

7. Best of Both Worlds Pt. 2 is a disappointing hack job of story telling
Pt. 1 was so very good. It's like they spent 90% of their time on Part 1 and then said, "Oh, fuck, we only have 40 minutes left to write the second part."

10. DS9: Far Beyond the Stars
Mind stretching ideas, fun to watch the cast play against their characters, excellent attention to detail in the clothing and sets, including the lighting, and a reminder just how wretched and demeaning the de facto racial segregation was. In many ways, what Trek did best.

In large measure because I never for a second believed that Picard would be the slightest bit interested in Vash, must less totally ga-ga for her. Since that's pretty much the centerpoint of the episode, it all kind of falls apart for me.

34. Okay then...
I'm annoyed that Troi and Crusher can take out two armored and helmeted knights by smashing terra cotta pots over their heads.

Overall I'd say that I found it ineffectively whimsical, much like A Fistful of Datas which was both ill-conceived and polluted by Alexander's presence. The Trouble with Tribbles, though not my favorite episode, was much more effective in its whimsy IMO.

There literally are so many:

Captain Proton episodes are killer,

Q episodes are highlarious

Do you all remember Famke Janssen as "Kamala", or the Bynars "Minuet"?

Inner Light was brilliant.

The last episode of ST:V was very satisfying, I must say.

33. ST: Voyager episodes
Torres was always my favorite character in that series, so I usually liked the episodes where she had a prominent role. Especially episodes where she was forced to come to terms with her Klingon half. Some of my favorites are "Barge of the Dead," "Lineage," "Prophecy," and "Faces."

Other good Voyager episodes were "Year of Hell," "Fury," "Equinox" (both halves), "Scorpion" (both halves), and "The Thaw."

TAPESTRY

In "Tapestry," Picard is shot, and the wound is worsened by the fact that he has an artificial heart. This is always something he's regretted having, as he earned it in a fight when he was a more foolish youth. After he's "dead," Picard is visited by Q, who offers him an opportunity to go back in time and avoid the fight/injury which necessitated his heart replacement. In the end, Picard finds that his new self is bereft of any joy or passion, always unwilling to take risks. Picard begs Q to put things back the way they were, saying that he'd rather die as who he was than live as the man he'd just seen. Q does as asked, and Picard ends up surviving anyhow. Q was trying to teach Picard that he shouldn't resent the untidy parts of his past, as they're an important part of the whole person he is.

That's probably my favorite episode, hands down.

CHAIN OF COMMAND, PARTS I AND II

In "Chain of Command," Picard is sent on a covert mission to stop what seems to be Cardassian development of a terrible weapon. It's a trap, and he is caught. In what's probably one of the most gut-wrenching episodes I can remember, Picard is tortured, all the while trading barbs with the Cardassian who's carrying it out. In the end, the Cardassian gives Picard a choice: he can continue to suffer in agony, or he can live a life of pleasure and scholarly pursuit. All he has to do is to say that he can see five lights in the ceiling, when there were really only four. Picard refuses to break for the Cardassian, but at the end, he privately admits to Troi that he was on the verge of doing so. He would've said anything to make the torture stop.

That episode, obviously, is well ahead of its time in addressing issues of our day.

Particularly among DS9 (which was my favorite Trek) episodes but I guess that I would have to say the 5th season episode "Call To Arms" where Sisko and the Federation crew has to abandon DS9 to the Dominion/Cardassians but not without mining the wormhole and masterfully sabotaging the command center. It was a bold move on the part of the writers to really "shake up" the series. The subsequent 6 episode "Dominion occupation arc" was well done but the 5th season finale really left my jaw on the ground.
