No, not "you lose."

These two words: Good game.

That quarterback of yours is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

1. My dear Redstone!
How lovely to see you tonight!

Football?

Yes, I know it is...

I'm sure all those good folks will appreciate your fine words!

3. Hey, Pegster. Always good to see one of your pleasant replies. Rough, ROUGH week here,
but a nice day like today, hitting the library in the town across the river (yeah, what a dweeb I am that doing so is a big pleasure), then hanging out with Mrs R while she goes nuts about the Patriots, and actually being able to eat three meals in one day (don't ask), does improve things a lot.

Hope all is well with you these days.

4. Well, hell, the only thing I'm interested in when watching sports is seeing
a good game. I don't have any "loyalty" to any team (except the ones Mrs R likes, for obvious reasons).

Just like back in the old days when I was ABLE to play sports (and did play several of them, until my body broke and my brains fell out), I played like an absolute maniac, but genuinely did not mind if my team (or me individually) lost. To me, the point was to play as well as I could, and if the other guys played better, well, they deserved to win.

Because how important is it, really? I play in a baseball game and my team loses? It's not like someone died, yes?

Perspective is important.

i have a fierce loyalty to one team, but if they lose, my life doesn't come crashing down on my head.

and i'm with you, i'm more interested in seeing a good game than anything else

7. Mrs R once worked with a guy who was such a Dallas Cowboys fan (even though
he had never lived in Texas) that - I kid you not - he would CALL IN SICK on any Monday after the Cowboys had lost a game. He was so damn depressed (and wasn't lying about it), that he honest-to-God couldn't go to work.

That's just pathetic. But true.

8. He played pretty good.
His only bad play was the interception near the end. Slippery as an eel. I liked his big run against the Steelers last week.
