What I learned at my judicatory's midwinter youth retreat
1) Clergy like to brag about how many rope courses they've done, and how well-trained they are to lead rope courses. Apparently, rope courses are the new clown ministry.

2) We would never force anyone to do anything they didn't want to. But kids who don't want to hang in a tangle of ropes 30 feet off the ground are weak, whiny, sissy crybabies who will never have the courage or drive to accomplish anything in their lives.

Grrr...Some people simply cannot pass up an opportunity to traumatize children.
