I got a new 22" monitor!
I can actually see the whole screen at the same time! This is really cool.

I also found out that I am going to have to have cataract surgery. I am scheduled to have the right eye done Mar. 18.

Anybody ever had this done? I know I have to have it, but I still feel kind of weird about it. Is that crazy, or a normal reaction? (nothin' normal about me)

1. My dear ashling!
Now that's a big monitor!

Mine is 17" one, I think, and I think it's a monster!

Good luck with the cataract surgery...

I'm quite sure you're normal feeling weird about it!

Any time we get our bodies' messed with, we feel weird...

You'll be fine!

 :loveya:

2. I have a 17" laptop
but I'm on the computer all the time so my wife said that we should get this monitor (she researched it and talked to the guy at Staples to get all the dope before asking me what I thought) an a new keyboard that is a little easier for a klutz like me to use.

As to the surgery, the Dr's office told me that we would be able to do the right one under insurance because my vision in that eye is 20/80. My other eye is 20/30. Medicare cuts off at 20/40, so if the vision is better than that, insurance usually won't cover it. She told me that we could probably cover it if after getting the first one done everything was out of balance. Of course, that is normal for me. I have no concept of what it would feel like to actually be balanced.

I have been needing this for some time I think, but my insurance just went into effect last month.

:hugs::yourock:

3. I had a cataract done last year, and...
it's one of modern medicine's marvels.

Takes maybe a half hour with an experienced surgeon and is painless. Within a week you won't know it ever happened, except you can see better than you have in years.

Of course it's normal to be wierded out by the thought of someone CUTTING INTO YOUR EYEBALL WITH A SHARP KNIFE, but don't worry yourself about it.

My other eye they had to stick needles in, and even that wasn't so bad.

He says it will take care of the double vision thing. THAT will truly be worth it.

5. I have an old 20" monitor...
got it for free from my job. Tossed my 17" in the closet.

I bet yours has the better picture, though! :-)

Is it a flat-screen? Mine's a CRT, and it's so friggin' heavy it has it's own satellite system orbiting it...
