Our two next Netflix films:
The Bourne Ultimatum
Jesus Camp (Because we have to see it again, sans commercials! :bounce:)

After that,

Dawn of the Dead (1994)

High and Low (Kurosawa)

Should be a good few weeks! :D

:hi:

1. They just sent my next 3 today:
Next (it might be alright even though Cage is in it)
Shoot 'Em Up (great action flick, waaaaay over the top)
Underdog (the nieces wanted to watch it)

13. I liked Next
Few people have even heard of it. It wasn't great filmmaking, but it was good. I'm a big PKD fan, so I'll watch anything even remotely based on his work.

I also liked Shoot 'Em Up, although there were moments where I was a little creeped by the misogyny.

2. Bourne Ultimatum
That one movie probably gave a dozen violin players carpal tunnel syndrome. Maybe I'm getting old, but I find myself wishing it would just slow down for 2 minutes :D

15. We just watched it last night. I just wish they would let the caffeine-
overdosing cameramonkey stop bouncing on the minitramp for a couple of shots. Let the little guy rest a bit, and let me cut back on my dramamine.

3. My next 3 are...
Better Off Dead

Donnie Darko

Grindhouse: Planet Terror

I have no rhyme or reason as to why any of these are on my list. I pick them drunk, so it's like Christmas when I get new ones.

:hi:

4. A recommendation!
"Snow Cake" with Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver. Wonderful little film.

BTW, Amelie is one of my top 5 favorites.

Enjoy what you have on the list!

10. Snowcake. One of the best films I've ever seen.
And if Netflix hadn't recommended it, I would have missed it.

Good suggestion! :)

12. I just happened to come across it at Target.
They have an indie film DVD section, and it was there.

Everything Is Illuminated is another nice film.

I currently have Death Sentence and Rescue Dawn in house.

My next movie coming should be the new Dragonlance animated movie that releases next Tuesday.

19. Steve Zahn is incredible in "Rescue Dawn"...
and Bale turns in a good performance.
I wasn't too happy with the other actor doing the third-rate Charles Manson impersonation. I can't believe Herzog let him get away with that nonsense.
If you haven't already done so, watch "Little Dieter Needs To Fly"

11. The Bourne Ultimatum. Get ready to enjoy!
Big suggestion. Watch the first two films again before you watch Ultimatum. Really helps to put all the pieces together. Especially if you haven't watched the first two in a while.

I just saw Ultimatum a few days ago. LOVED it. But I was scratching my head a lot at first. Had to watch the extra features after I viewed it to answer a few questions. Then I went back and watched it a second time. Wonderful series of films. Wish I could totally forget them so I could watch them again "new."

Beals didn't do any of her own welding!

...and The DaVinci Code.

When I'm done with those, next up are "Prime Suspect 1: Disc 1" (never seen any of these.) Helen Mirren is the draw, natch; and "The Good German".

24. I just saw Paris, Je t'aime this week.
I really loved it, esp. the part about the mime couple...and the way the whole thing ended. Actually, I enjoyed all of them. Didn't you see that one a week or so ago?

You're also very fluent in French, seems to me. I keep losing more and more of the spoken (and written when I don't need to use it for work) even tho I watch The Simpsons in French. I wonder how Homer's accent is characterized in French?

31. I just bought that one last week.
I saw Paris, je t'aime in the theater when it came to my area last summer, and by the time the credits rolled I'd decided I needed the DVD.

Netflix just sent me My Wife Is an Actress, and I recently saw The Valet and My Best Friend. Yeah, I know; Daniel Auteuil should probably pay me some sort of commission. I also loved The Closet and La Buche, which is a wonderful little film, especially around the holidays.
