Michelle Pfiefer wants to do a remake of "Grease" with Jessica Simpson as Sandy
Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 06:54 AM by LynneSin
DEAR GOD NO!!!!

Grease the Movie was one of the best movie musicals - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are Danny & Sandy. Jessica Simpson's acting career is sinking so fast that the release of her last movie, Blonde Ambition, made like a total of $10k in the theater before being released straight to video.

Michelle Pfeiffer is desperate to star in a remake of seventies movie musical Grease - and she wants Jessica Simpson to play Sandy. The actress is desperately embarrassed about her performance in the ill-fated Grease 2, and wants to erase all memory of it by making a new version of the original film. Pfieffer is thrilled by reports Simpson is being touted to play prom queen Sandy Dumbrowski - and has her eye on the role of the comical Principal McGee. She says, "It's a great idea, and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy. She would be good." Pfeiffer adds of her own Grease experience, "I hated that film (Grease 2) with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time, was young and didn't know better... I hear it's a cult movie now."

22. She sang a couple of lines of 'I Haven't Got Time For the Pain'
in an episode of "That '70s Show."

It was... well, horrible.

9. She's too old to play a high schooler, isn't she? she's almost 28
Granted, the original Grease movie featured a cast of players way too old for high school - Stockard Channing, some of Travolta's gang, etc.

How about the Hannah Montana girl? or at least somebody that is under 21.

10. How about we just not remake the movie
Grease was a classic - doesn't need an updated version.

11. Why update a period musical?
Made in the style of today's musicals (and probably with meager talents as "stars") it would probably be unwatchable, and a pointless waste of money and time. Just my opinion. I won't see it, either way.

12. Grease 2 is one of those "trainwreck" movies.
It's so unbelievably terrible, yet you can't HELP but watch it. Cheeseball songs, bad acting, retarded script, recycled story . . . just a real shitbomb all the way around.

13. Wasn't one Grease enough?
Sorry, I know there are some devoted Grease disciples here, but I personally find it excruciating to sit through. I can't imagine having to watch it redone.
