93 Christmases later . . . . (crosspost from Photography group)

My girlfriends mother has a friend who is 93 years old. We had the pleasure of spending Christmas with him this year. His hearing is going a bit, but he's still very sharp.

1. It is always fascinating to talk with someone who has so much stored up knowledge.
I had a neighbor with whom I loved to talk. He was in his 80's and would tell me stories about our neighborhood and what it was like when he was a child...back when the trolley ran thru the streets and all the garages were carriage houses. It was wonderful.
It was too bad no one took the time to write down all his stories.

2. I wish more of the elderly would write journals....
Or autobiographies. It seems that history is wasted otherwise. I begged one of my uncles to do it. He had the best stories about his childhood. (Maybe he did do it, after all). He's too sick now.

3. My dear ET Awful!
Well, I thought I'd see an awesome pic...

And I wasn't disappointed...

This is superb!

So sharp and clear, so much detail...

He has really lived!

You can see it in his face...

Thank you for posting this!

6. That's a nice doorknob.
You should crop that top a little to avoid distraction in an otherwise excellent photo.
