13. It's a favorite snack for our dogs also...
our Bailey (golden retriever) has gotten in trouble for it so many times that now if I leave it in reach by mistake he just brings it to me and drops it at my feet. Silly boy!

49. Bitter Apple...
Our maltese loved the t.p., so for several days I took off a piece of tp about 3 feet long, sprayed both ends with bitter apple, and then draped it over the roll (no, you don't want to actually use that part). After smelling that a few times (and perhaps taking a taste test?) our little Muppy decided that he wasn't so interested in toilet paper, after all!

25. EXACTLY!!!
Being an architect, I appreciate that comment. I grew up with my mom being an over person, in my mind that was just how it was.

I married an under person and it bugged the shit out of me (pun intended.) Then one day I discovered that when it is under you can more easily pull out your allotment, block the roll with the back of your wrist and tear, without needing two hands. An improved efficiency in motion and function.

31. EXACTLY NOT!!!
I've had just the opposite experience- when my wife accidentally put the paper in the "under" position, I was able to demonstrate to her exactly why over is better-

with the tp-holder inset into the wall, when you go "under", the paper hugs the wall under the holder, making it hard to grab it to begin with- when the paper goes "over", the paper hangs in the air, and there's plenty of space between the wall and the paper to fit your hand in, for easier grasping, and much better function.

12. According to the State of Missouri....
It's over. My daughter is a CNA going to Nursing School and she said they were taught that it has to be over to eliminate possible contact with the wall as much as possible.

The nursing home she works for can be cited for a violation if it isn't done correctly.

14. That's tough. I don't have state statutes to back me up, but
Over, Over, OVER! How many times do I have to tell you people? And, while I'm at it, do not start using 1 or 2 squares at a time when you can see the roll getting thin. It's not like you're being required to paint the house, for crying out loud. Get up and go get another roll, and put it on the thingy.

15. Under because
when your 18-month-old finds he/she can stand at the at the holder and pat away at the roll until the whole thing is layered on your bathroom floor, you'll start a lifetime habit of putting the roll on backwards so they won't be tempted. Over also makes it easier for them to put the end in the toilet and keep flushing 'til the whole roll becomes like a giant tapeworm in the septic system.

26. It is spelled "thingy", please look it up.
It is a totally complicated procedure. And therefore, the toilet paper thingy maneuver must not by undertaken by the uninitiated. I believe it must be much safer for everyone to just conserve the toilet paper, excepting those of us qualified to actually do the paper thingy maneuver. Just purchase the mysterious toilet paper, and leave it somewhere. Don't hurt yourself; leave it to the professionals.

30. Which is exactly what happened at my house.
Some friends from Queensland were staying with us. They had a 10 year old and a 7 year old.
The 7 year old was a complete shit.
At 5 a.m. Barbara comes into our bedrooom.
"Uh...TROF? The toilet in our bathroom is overflowing. I'm afraid David did something."

The little *#@#*%#@ had done exactly what you described.
I now firmly believe in corporal punishment.

35. I seldom apply corporal punishment; however
That is the utmost of a crummy kid "what will happen if I do this" trick. What will happen is that you get to find out how to use a plumbers friend. And how you can survive when you get poop and pee on your hands. And how to quickly locate the yuckiest towels and rags in the house. And use them to mop up the mess you made. And then wash them and stay up all night until they are washed and dried, folded and put away.

Corporal punishment would be easier.

I hate those damned TP dispensers! Hey, it takes me a whole bunch of little 2-ply squares to clean my dirty brown ring, and I can't stand to remain in that half-squat position while i fumble for that elusive loose end then trying to twist enough to hold the roll with one hand while i remove the sheets with the other hand to keep the damned thing from spinning all over. I much prefer to just grab a loose roll off the nearby counter.
