Please offer suggestions for a gift basket: the theme is "Movie & Game Night?"

I have the movies picked - if only I could remember them all. "Empire Falls," "Passion Fish," and --- ?? forgot. (Oooh! Maybe there's a special edition of "The Long Kiss Goodnight?" one of those coming out? One of her favorite movies.)

She lost Uno; I grabbed it from the impulse-buy racks at a check stand at Target. I also have a travel Yahtzee we've never played that'll go into the mix. I'll ask what games she has, and pick from your suggestions to get others.

Finally, besides booze, what would you put in for food & drink?

So questions:

Movies - but this isn't a favorite movie thread. If you can think of one you like, share it. Some of her favorites are "As Good As It Gets," "The Long Kiss Goodnight," "Love Actually," "Thelma & Louise," etc. She's not typical "chick movie" chick - she likes action movies if they're not from lousy screenplays and if the violence is over-the-top gory, gruesome, grotesque, etc. And she likes "women rock" movies, about women who find their power, like "The Color Purple" and "Fried Green Tomatoes," things like that. Oh, and she love the voice of Sam Elliott - really likes it, IFKWIM - and movies with guys like 'em: not classically or Hollywood handsome, and she likes older but still appealing as hell. CAn you think of anything w/ someone like that in it? (Not "Roadhouse.")

Games - nothing like strip twister or naked one-legged bowling. Nothing involving outright sensuality/sexuality. But for adults. No "Chutes & Ladders" or "Candy Land." Stuff like backgammon, scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Outburst, Balderdash, etc. And what's the game in a big square metal box, the game played in teams where you have to sing, or make something out of some clay, or do some other sutch...

Food/drink: we lean to chips & dip, strips & salsa, pretzels, veg plates... i'm not being very creative.

2. silly me, i forgot about the savories one usually finds in a different kind

Cranium, one of our used-to-be favorites-. Another wonderful to play, good for laughs game is Catch Phrase. It is great for a group of friends or family to play. Microwave popcorn, little wrapped chocolates. Happy Birthday to your other sister.
