Lakota Indians forfeit all contracts with government
or something in this direction. Read it on a dutch newssite. Can anyone confirm (and inform)?
Thanks.

1. Suspect that that would be this

(Russell Means and AIM propose that Lakotas withdraw from all treaties with the US.)

5. Okay, thanks. They made it seem like
the Lakota Indians had already, en masse, retreated from the United States. That would be cool, I suppose, just for the fun of being a pain in the ass to the government.

I don't meet many Indians at all here in Europe, not even in the areas that resemble Wyoming (can't think of any, though), so I'm not sure of the status. So, is this really going to happen? And if so, could other people do the same, like, say, California?

9. I'd call it an outside chance. I live in SC, the state that started the last
secession crisis in American history; it didn't end well for us.

That said, the Lakota headline is now at the top of the DU front page.

3. We should give them Wyoming and have done with it.
But seriously, if they had a problem with these treaties, why didn't they mention it 130 years ago? Whatsa matter, Russel Means, smallpox got yer tongue?

7. I've read a few bits of Lakota myth, and if it can be considered canon, they're excellent folks.
We should learn a tremendous amount from them.

8. here's what I saw this morning
and it brought a smile to my face. As soon as the government invades the Lakotas after this news, my AIM ass is off to defend the homeland.
