I just got slapped with a bill for 3& 1/2 months of back-charges for Jack's preschool.
The fucking stupid school district convinced me to sign him up for Head Start, so that the program would cover extra hours of school for him.

I filled out their fucking paperwork. I turned it in. I carve hours out of my already insane schedule every week, so we can have "home visits" that are utterly pointless.

Apparently, we are not scheduled for Head Start THROUGH the preschool center, so the costs are NOT covered. At no point did anyone EVER explain this to me. I wouldn't have fucking signed up for the extra days of preschool OR the fucking Head Start program, if I knew it was NOT covering the services that I SIGNED UP TO GET IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The school district had better get their shit together. I am really, really pissed off. I talked to one of Jack's therapist and she was MAD, too. Someone is going to get their ass reamed.

I could conceivably pay it, but *right* now? Doubtful. I wasn't exactly budgeting for expenses I was told I wasn't going to incur.
I'm just pissed because I was told the district and Head Start were covering the expenses for the hours I signed him up for. Nope. Jack didn't get a "center-based" Head Start designation, because apparently although there were spots open when I applied, they effed up the process by not enrolling him initially, because his qualification is based on his disability, not our income. The "center-based" spots were filled for Head Start, so he's considered a "home based" student (even though he's IN the preschool.) I didn't even fucking KNOW there was any difference. I thought "head start" was "head start." Nobody told me ANYTHING.

It's just a big fucking mess that no one bothered to address or even INFORM me about. Meanwhile, I'm racking up charges that I wasn't even AWARE of, until the preschool director told me, today.
