6. I think it depends on the actress/movie.

Example, Demi Moore in Striptease. Paid to be thin and act. I know, bad example. An actress like JLH, IIRC, is given the role of the "hot girl" or cheerleader or pretty dodo. Part of it is looking the part. Other actesses, I think it matter less how they look, and more how they act.

It is somewhat the same for me. C'mon...Tom Cruise? If he got fat, nobody would watch him anymore. Johnny Depp might be a toss up, as he can act well. Where would Ahnold be today if he had to rely on acting in the beginning and he wasn't Mr. Olympia? Chris Farley got paid to be fat. Half his schtick was being fat.

I just think it depends on the role and the person acting it.

Would George Clooney get the Batman roll had he been 50 pounds overweight? Probably not. Actors and actresses have to fit the part and if you're perceived as being sexy, you'll need to stay sexy. Male or female, it really doesn't matter.

Look at Kathy Bates, far from being the perfect body, yet she has had some great roles.
