| Can anybody help? I need to find out what are good seats for 2008 Daytona 500. |
|
I am not a NASCAR fan at all, but I want to get tickets for my best friend for the 2008 Daytona 500. I see lots of tickets available online, but I have no idea which are good seats or not. I have read of some people getting horrible tickets and not being able to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| 1. A good rule of thumb.... |
|
The more expensive the ticket, the better the seat. I would say that higher up would allow them to see more of the track, but last I checked, the start/finish line is prime seating.

| 2. take into account where the sun will be as the afternoon progresses |
|
you want the sun behind you so it's cooler and you aren't blinded by glare

| 3. Well, I ordered the tickets and undoubtedly overpaid for them, |
|
but this will be a once in a lifetime experience and I needed 3 tickets and nearly everybody had 2s or 4s. I got 3 seats in the Oldfield tower at turn #4 on the frontstretch. I cannot tell from looking at the seating map how it corresponds with compass directions, but on the track oval it is in the lower left. Thanks for the tips.

Up high on any turn is a good spot, although I like being up high at turn one with a good view of the start/finish line. Did the tickets include pit passes for pregame activities? Thats an awesome gift.

I hope my friend loves the tickets because she will in no way ever expect them. She is like a daughter to me and has had some bad breaks in her young life. She is a Dallas Cowboys fan, but she told me the other day that ultimately to her football is just a game. She said the date she was looking for was Februrary 17th, and not being a Nascar fan I was clueless, but she said that being a struggling single mom that she would never get to go. This will be serendipity for her and is the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 500 and in 50 years from now when she thinks of the Daytona 500 she will think of me. Actually, I don't know if I will be going with her--that's entirely up to her. I just wanted to be a part in it all that sometimes good things unexpectedly happen to deserving people--that's my reward.
