I had one of those promotional cards...$10 off a purchase of $20 or more. So I went. I have not been to Mervyns since about 6 years ago, before they left the Twin Cities market.
How they are allowed to have such narrow passage ways between their junked up displays legally is beyond me. I would think both the Fire Marshall and the ADA compliance people would shut them down.
I was looking at something up in the kitchen department (big surprise...) and there was no price on it and no sign nearby, so I asked a floor associate where I could find out the price. She told me to go to the cashier and they would scan for the price. The one cashier in the department had a line of no less than 18 people. I told the floor associate that I was not going to cut in line for that, and inconvenience the person who waited in line. Needless to say, I did not buy that item.
I did manage to get something for $13 that would have cost $23 without the card, so it was not a totally wasted trip.
They are going to have to pay me more than that to shop there in the future. I had forgotten what a nightmare that store is.
