Things you now realize that you shouldn't have thrown away:
Mine include:

6' Aluminum 1960s Christmas Tree, only used once because the family thought it was 'too ugly'

..and its little companion:

1960s-era child's metal-bodied pedal car; "nobody plays with this anymore, and its taking up space in the garage."

1970s-era kids lunchboxes; "the kids have outgrown these"

1920s electric fan..worked great, but had deadly, uncovered metal blades:

Damn. Damn, damn damn damn! Oh, well..live and learn.

1. Not me, but my mom, the garage sale queen
"GET RID OF IT--IT'S JUNK" is her mantra. She's lucky my brother and I are still speaking to her. Some of the "junk" she's ditched over the years...

- my Partridge Family lunchbox, my Brady Bunch lunchbox

- her mother's white enamel pot set

- her parents' household furnishings from the '20s and '30s, including an oak icebox and two porcelain pitcher-and-wash-basin sets

- all my Little Golden Books (many, many, many)

- my brother's pool table

And, the piece de resistance...

- my brother's baseball cards. Including--you guessed it--THE BIG BUCKS ONES.

We coulda been rich, dammit. Oh well. We still have our Jarts game.

3. My baseball cards
collected from chewing-gum packets in the late '50. Let's see, I remember Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Vida Blue and Sandy Koufax. I'm sure there were others just as good, as the stack was bigger than two decks of cards. :-(

4. A complete set of Mickey Mouse Club magazines from the 1950s
the entire run of the magazine.

Gone in some trash heap.
