1. Depends.
If you're a guy and have any chance of actually doing so (hi hon!) I find it mildly amusing.

Anybody else? Let's just say I have a bad temper and very little patience, and leave it at that.

2. Well yeah - things take on a different meaning...
...when they are said between people who are intimate. Is that what you're saying? I agree.

4. Nope. It's objectification
Besides, most of the men that say that would hit anything with a hole in it, so it's not exactly discriminating anyway. I've seen guys that would say that about a tree stump.

29. Just like the related expression...
..."I'd wreck that chick." Usually it is the implied meaning of an expression that is potentially offensive. Here and in the case of "I'd hit it" it is the overt meaning that is disturbing and the listener is expected to infer a nonviolent implied meaning. Weird.

"...unless in an actual BDSM setting"

 Sorry, I know you are being serious, but that add-on qualification is funny as hell.

8. It's a way for men who haven't a chance in hell with someone to feel superior.
Pretty pathetic as well as being objectifying and demeaning. Tasteless combination of nasty loser traits.

After all that is the more important question..
I'd "hit" Catherine Zeta Jones but the chances of her hitting me are 1 in a gazillion

23. I think it depends entirely on who's saying it and what mood they are saying it with.
It can be either demeaning or cute. Though I would be most unlikely to say it.
