Drunks need not apply

You know there's a labour crunch when want-ads start listing what's not wanted in job applicants, rather than begging for any resume under the sun.

Take the new hiring campaign from La Belle Femme, a high-end European lingerie boutique in Edmonton and Sherwood Park, which says that drunks, druggies, tardys, cussmouths, thieves and all other general type of moron need not apply.

"If you ... can come to work on time, not steal from us, not show up drunk, then come in and see us today," reads the full-page ad, written by La Belle Femme owner Charmaine Rose.

The ad goes on to recount the story of a delinquent staffer telling Rose, "I can get to work whenever I want, you don't have a choice."
