Also, what the hell is the point of making this sweeping judgment. Are you trying to inspire self reflection in order to improve the quality of discourse here? If that's true, there's probably a better way to do that than with a quick, sweeping insult.

Or do you see that it's true, some people are here for attention and validation, and other people enable that, and you're so proud of yourself for not only being able to detect this, but to look down on it, that you just had to advertise?

There are all kinds of people here, and they share things for all kinds of reason. I think even the most evolved among us has felt a little pang at some point when a thread they thought was clever or interesting sunk without comment. I think even the most secure among us has come here to feel the support of like-minded people.

This is a social forum. This is a place where people do get personal, and ego, emotion, intellect, character, all come into play. Sometimes the result is pretty ugly. Other times it's enlightening. Most of the time it is at least somewhat entertaining.

The Lounge is a place of friendship and love. It's like a little family in here, and like any family we have all kinds of personalities. We accept them for who they are and love them anyway. And like any family we have our fights and disagreements even becoming estranged from one another, but that's how life is. We don't really wish ill on any of our brothers and sisters, but we'll laugh at them if they fall down or tease them for being a dork. It's family. And it's ours. And we love it.
