A Post Thanksgiving Family Tale
A Family Tale for Thanksgiving . . . Sort of . . .

A man in Portland, Oregon calls his son in New York City two days before Thanksgiving.

“I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing," he says. "Forty-five years is enough.”

“Pop, what are you talking about?” the son screams.

“We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,” the father says. “I’m sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her.”

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. “Like heck they're getting divorced,” she shouts. “I’ll take care of this!”

She calls her parents immediately, and screams at her father, “You are NOT getting divorced. Don’t do a single thing until I get there. I’m calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don’t do a thing!”

The father hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. “It's OK, Honey,” he says, “The kids are coming here for Thanksgiving and they're paying their own way.”

2. aces! great story
I have a nice story.

My sister had a bad accident in May of '06. She fell off a ladder, 10 ft, and broke her leg and ankle into a lot of little pieces. Bone infections, surgeries, etc.... didn't walk for more than a year. In July of this year '07, she took her first steps in over a year.

Friday, she went bowling.

Mind you, she didn't do the whole, approach the line thing... she just walked up to the line and threw the ball.

Bowling has been a tradition for this sister and my twin. Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, they avoid the stores and go bowling. Last year, they didn't get to go.

My sister bowled Friday.

I was so glad to be there to see it.
