2. I was hooked the minute they mentioned Minnesota

I remember this story. It was huge news in Minnesota right before we left.

5. Dad died in car crash

Mom got hooked up with a violent man, she got out of the relationship and was in a new relationship. Violent guy started to stalk her, mom installed an alarm system and had new boyfriend move in for protection. Violent ex bf breaks in and shoots both the mom and the new bf in the presence of the 11 year old daughter.

Four kids moved in with mom's sister and her husband and their three children. Mom's sister is pregnant with fourth child.

Need lots of space, etc.

7. I admit. I watch it.

Most of the middle part is watched in fast-forward (hooray for TiVo), but yeah...I'm a sucker.

Plus, I love seeing the new houses. :blush:

11. question about these new homes

do the people have to pay an income tax on it - like winners on game shows? and what about property taxes - I'm sure they go up with these new homes

I watch the show occassionally - and often wonder how the families can afford to keep the house given some of their financial hardship situations...
