Tar and pitch were largely used to paint the bottom of wooden British ships in order to both seal the ship and to prevent shipworm from damaging the hull.

Yes, all the characters you mention do outweigh Jesse Helms and Cass Bellanger. And I still think that John Edwards and Supernova and Lex and all the other DU'ers make it a wonderfull place, as was mentioned in my original post

BTW I'm glad that John Edwards got revenge on Lauch Faircloth for defeating Terry Sanford in '92'. The more I read about Sanford, the more I like him
