Aqua Dots... Mm-mmm delicious!
But now I feel so sleepy...

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, it's time for government regulation to step in, or is the faux-free market still the best means of ensuring product safety?

1. It's really awful
My 4 yr old granddaughter had so few toys on her list for Christmas..one of them was Aquadots. What in the world are they trying to do to our kids..or are the manufacturers just too stupid and greedy to care.

I doubt the toy industry will be selling much this Christmas season. Once that trust is broken, it's hard to trust them ever again.

5. My daughter has had a post-it with the word AQUA-DOTS
on it stuck to my fridge for 5 months. I told her that it they had been pulled and she told me that Santa would make sure she got them because the elves would never put poison in the toys....

11. That's the thing, how do we explain it to kids?
They get their little hearts set on something only to be disappointed because of some greedy company.

We have an 11 month old grandson to buy for and I have no idea what's safe or not anymore. The girls were never much for putting things in their mouths..but he has to try to chew on everything.

7. Google Step 2
Toys made right here in the USA. Really, really nice stuff. Not cheap but worth every penny. The link is way too long to post.

9. I like their stuff. We get the catalogs but
my DIL chooses what toys we buy. I emailed her the recall notice for Aquadots, she hadn't heard about it yet.

According to the catalog, 90% of Step 2 toys are made in the USA with the possiblity some of the parts may be imported. They have a really good labeling system though, Made in the USA, Made in the USA of US and imported parts, or labeled with the country of origin.

Thing is, I don't see labeling marked on the idividual items in the catalog. I'll have to check out their website again and see if they have it there.

18. Maybe they're just trying to murder all our kids
Because they're only allowed to have one per household.

4. I can quit any time I want
And it's perfectly normal to drink a 12-pack of Coke before lunch each day.

What was the question again?

8. No, the free market will protect us!!!
Heresy to you for doubting the all powerful free-market!

Now, I must go throw the magic bones so the free market will tell me what must be done.

10. Where do Republicans shop?
Do they hide a special "no-lead" line of toys just for themselves?

Or do they not care? Do we get to blame lead-enhanced toys for GWB?
