Finally switched my cable subscriptions to Showtime & TMC
from HBO and Skinimax

Now I can see Weeds and Dexter.

:woohoo:

Just thought I'd announce that important fact.

3. You Made The Right Choice. HBO Is Getting Cheap on their Original Programs
They've cut back dramatically on the money that they spend on original programming. Gone are "Rome", "Carnivale", "Six Feet Under", and "The Sopranos". All shows which had some style and substance to them. In their place is "Tell Me That You Love Me" which is a low budget snooze fest. Every week it's the same show going over the same issues.

Showtime has the Tudors, Dexter, The Brotherhood, and the L Word.

5. I really wanna like CYE
but really, it makes me squirm. Everytime I've watched it I wind up changing the channel because I get so embarrassed for him.

17. The thing about CYE is..
Larry David is SUPPOSED to be that big of a douchebag. That's what makes it so funny.

19. And that's why I don't watch
The one thing I can't stand is people being humiliated. It's also why so many reality shows are so unwatchable to me too.

I'm too empathetic.

10. Yes, One Funny Sitcom
But, where's the new "Six Feet Under" or "Oz" or "The Sopranos" or "Rome"?

Now, we get a drama about 3 rich White couples whining about their sex lives.

15. Yeah, their dramas suck.
Ever since "The Wire", "Rome", and "The Sopranos" ended, HBO's gone to shit. At least they have CYE and "Entourage".

20. HBO Has Gotten Incredibly Cheap
CYE and Entourage are dirt cheap to make. No costumes. No location shooting. Half hour TV shows. Dirt cheap.

Rome, Carnivale, Oz, and even the Sopranos require locations shooting, costumes, etc., and they are hour long shoots.

Their new trick is to buy BBC programming and re-package them here as original programming.

HBO isn't what it used to be. Showtime has all the great shows now.

If not, then don't take the Emmys seriously.
