I don't follow the behind the scenes drama. I have to admit, I was upset when I heard this story, but I just want to enjoy the game.

Besides, I've been a Red Sox fan for a while now.

First of all I suggest you look at the Rockies lineup and check out the numerous Latin American Catholics, the Japanese player, the Jewish player, etc.

Secondly, in an interview with the Rocky Mountain News, the players who went on the record said they'd never heard of such a policy and the reporter said that the supposed ban on pornography in the clubhouse was demonstrably not in effect. The ownership might be dicks for a lot of reasons (starting with the fact that they can't keep their fingers away from the 'trade everybody' button), but they're not running the team in a theocratic manner. Anybody can see that.

and I think Faux doesn't want its broadcasts to be about the announcers, so they hired guys who give "dull" a bad name.

That's my main complaint about Buck; unlike his old man, he's boring. McCarver seems to feel he has to explain everything. So does Joe Morgan, but Morgan at least makes it sound somewhat interesting. With McCarver, it may as well be chalk talk without the chalk.

These guys make me pine for the old NBC team with guys like Al Michaels, Bob Costas and Vin Scully. Hell, they make me pine for Curt Gowdy.
