When I am tired my willpower goes out the window
Like tonight. Working my second twelve-hour day in a row (unexpectedly because they- coworkers and boss- changed their plans at the last possible minute. It's a good thing I don't have a life so there is no possibility I might, like, have a date or something. :eyes: Boy does this piss me off. I don't mind the hours or the work but could you be a little less unpredictable? Am I supposed to be at you fucking beck and call at any damn time? I know I am supposed to smile and say, yes, sir, whatever you want sir, but I am really, really hating my job right (and the assholes I work with- which includes a tattletale. We nearly got into it today so I suppose he will tell the boss on me).

But what happens on these occasions is that I eat like crap. Fast food, mostly, on my way home at 930 pm. I am not about to cook anything at that hour and I have no one to cook for me.

1. Aww, I feel for ya alarimer
I've been in that position before.

The truth is, if you don't set boundaries, people will think they can take advantage of you. So you have to periodically ask to leave early, come in late, etc. just to let them know that you do have a private life than they can't always default to you.

Whether you do have anything to do or not at these times is really no ones business but your own.

I learned that the hard way. I was too conscientious and became everyone's default backup. I learned to say when I would or would not be available.

3. I guess I might try "I have plans" once or twice
This only happens really during our busiest times, when certain things we do require longer hours. I don't mind the hours; I just would prefer to know a little bit in advance. I don't think that is too much to ask but for some reason we cannot seem to stick to a plan. I've brought it up quite frequently but they do not seem to grasp it.

4. Is there a steep staircase nearby?
Many Employee abuse problems can be solved with a steep staircase.
