I wish they'd had more daylight hours to fight the fires. This is very unsettling... the winds picking up at sunset... after only 2 inches of rain all year.

The last fire season that scared the shit outta me was in '03 when both my college apt (in San Diego) and my mom's house (San Fernando Valley) were both at risk of being evacuated. There was really nowhere I could've gone during that ordeal. Seeing ashes raining is so not cool, especially when some of the ashes perfectly resemble the small leaves they once were, veins and all.
