Need some housetraining help.
A few days ago I brought home a Boston Terrier from animal control. He is 10 months old. (I already have a spayed female bagle and a spayed female cat and grew up with a Boston, so feel like I am familiar with the breed, but who knows.) He got sick once I got him home and I took him to the vet yesterday and he is taking medicine for kennel cough and is getting better. He seems to want to pee in the house, which is a real deal-breaker for me since I had a dog that did this and I could never get a handle on it. We had her until she died at 14 and was a great dog except she would take spells of peeing in the house (ruined my wood floors) and the last few years were really bad. Tried multiple things but could not get her to stop - she would sneak around us to go pee in the dining room. Anyway, back to this guy - he was already crate trained according to his info and when I take him out of the crate in the morning I immediately take him outside to pee. Did that today and five minutes later he pees in the kitchen. Last night he peed on my daughter's bed. I know he is disoriented in a new place and is recovering from an illness so I am willing to cut him some slack but want to get on top of this behavior quickly. When he peed in the kitchen we immediately took him outside (for what it was worth). Whenever he pees outside we always give him lots of praise. So what else should I be doing?

1. More time in the crate
until he gets adjusted. He has to be peeing outside reliably before spending much time in the house outside of his crate. Then only take him to a small part of the house while you're there to supervise. Definitely don't give him the run of the house yet.
