NyQuil makes you feel like your in a coma
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 03:02 PM by Lostmessage

I drank a couple of shots of Nyquil and the last think that I can remember is sitting on my couch and that's it.
I woke up with the remote in my hand and I can't move my hand right now. The TV was on as well as all of my lights and my clock was going off and it was set for 9:00am. I was halfway off of the couch and halfway on it. One of my Cat's had bedded down between my legs and I guess he didn't move all night long.

I had cracked one of my windows open because I felt hot after drinking the NyQuil and it was frozen open and freezing in my apt.
I woke up a little while ago and It felt like I had been in a coma. I have never slept that sound before in my life.

The guys in the apt. next door could have busted through the walls and I would have never even flinched. A robber could have broken in and stole my ring off of my hand and I wouldn't have woken up either.

Nyquil rocks dudes.

2. WHOA!
I had a run in with Nyquil over New Years. One little cup and I was out like I haven't slept in years. And this coming from a man that can drink 15 shots of tequila without flinching.

I don't do illegal drugs anymore. Now I just do the legal drugs. Tonight I'm on NyQuil and Sudafed. Let me tell you something, folks. Forget about cocaine and heroine. All you need is NyQuil and Sudafed. I'm telling you right now, I took the NyQuil five years ago. I just came out of the coma tonight before the fucking show! Claus Vanbulo was standing over my bed going, "Denis, get up! There's something the matter with Sunny! Hurry up!" I love NyQuil. Man, I love it! I love it. I love it. I love it. It's the best thing shit ever invented. Isn't it, huh? I love the name alone. NyQuil - Capitol N, small Y, big fucking Q! I love that fucking Q, don't you!? What a great advertising idea! Put a huge fucking Q on the box. They'll get high and stare at it. "The Q is talking to me! The Q is talking to me!"

I love NyQuil, man. Because NyQuil has never changed, man. It's never changed. All the other medicines are doing that inner-child thing. "we know that there's a small child inside of you, so now we have grape and cherry and orange flavor." Not NyQuil! They still have the original green death fucking flavor! You know why!? Because it doesn't matter what it tastes like! It's so strong you go, "*wheeze* Hey this stuff really tastes like.." Bang! Yer in the coma already! "What happened?" "He said tastes like and he went right into the coma, it was unbelievable!" We have reached the point where the over the counter drugs are actually stronger than anything you can buy on the street. It says on the back of the NyQuil box, on the back of the box it says, "May cause drowsiness." It should say, "Don't make any fucking plans! Kiss your family and friends goodbye. Say hello to Klaus!" NyQuil, NyQuil, NyQuil, we love you! You giant fucking Q!

NyQuil is the secret for all you twelve step recovery program people. Yes, all you AA people, NyQuil is the key! It's the thirteenth fucking step! You can drink it! It's over the counter! Drink as much as you want. "Are you drunk?" "No! I have a cold. Same cold I've had for two years. I just can't seem to shake it. I'm high as a kite and my teeth are green. Merry fucking Christmas!"

16. You'd be surprised how many people in AA
have "gone out" on Nyquil. Or maybe you
wouldn't be surprised. I believe it's got
more alcohol than wine. What is it, 20%
or something?

6. A COUPLE shots?
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 03:19 PM by TheBlob
No wonder!

One cup is enough to wipe you out for an entire sleep cycle.

Denis Leary does a great bit on Nyquil:

"They should change the name to - Don't Make Any Fucking Plans"

On Edit: JC beat me on the Leary riff.

8. I took two shots just to make sure that I took enough
Some of it sticks in the cup so I took two shots to make sure that I had taken the required dose.

11. Next time
take one shot and then fill the cup with water and drink that to get the remaining dosage.

7. It sure does!
My one and only experience with NyQuil was in high school -- felt like I was coming down with a cold but didn't want to miss school. NyQuil was the only cold remedy we had in the house, so I took some before I went to class. I don't know how I made it through that day...good thing there were no exams!

14. Anything that says can cause drowsiness knocks me out
I even had a hard time staying awake on the allegedly nonsedating antihistamine Zyrtec. As a teenager, I was knocked out on children's Dimetap.
I tend not to take cold medicine except an occaisional guifenesen. Most contain pseudephedrine which interacts with my beta blocker and pre existing anxiety disorder to give me bad side effect.

I am an artist also and I love your paintings. When I move I will buy something from you.

But weird dreams sometimes contribute to artwork don't they?

23. Funny you should mention it...
I had up close, personal experience this week. Took a shot of the red stuff & MAN, my dreams! One of them was about how Gwyenth Paltrow was going to pick the next cast of Star Trek. Another one was about me throwing a party & being afraid my living room was too small. My daughter pushed my couch against the wall & moved the wall into my neighbor's apartment. Damn, who needs acid?

24. "Nyquil Blues" brings back the memories
Alvin Crow & The Pleasant Valley Boys were one of the best Austin bands back in the Cosmic Cowboy days--1970's. "Nyquil Blues" was their big hit.

Even down in uncool Houston, we got to hear the stars. Freda (Marcia Ball) & the Firedogs, Willie, Doug Sahm, etc. Here's a poster from those days...
