29. Hmm...okay, the official EH analysis...
Fantastic Chocies: The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Queen, Radiohead, NIN

Good Choices: The Clash, Blondie, Cranberries, B.B. King, the Cure (have to say this or risk death by kagehime)

Mediocre Choices: Green Day, Offspring (they used to be GREAT, now they just suck), Wallflowers, Beastie Boys, Nirvana

FRIGGIN LOUSY: Dave Matthews Band, Weezer.

The rest I have little to no opinion on.

Your taste in music isn't half bad for a young'in. :P

and dave matthews band is good chill music plus he has an awesome voice. ever heard him live?

i agree about the offspring, their old music is awesome but their newer stuff isn't so great. imo the same can be said for green day - although i love the message of their newer stuff i still prefer the older stuff when it comes to the music. ;)

36. no, i haven't, nor would i care to.
here's my personal list, in no particular order...

sage francis, buck 65, buddy wakefield, the new pornographers, neko case, emily haines, portishead, massive attack, mandalay, smog, radiohead, pink floyd, the who, the beatles, the kinks, bob dylan, belle and sebastian, rilo kiley, leonard cohen, nellie mckay, DJ shadow, dream theater, el producto, aesop rock, the white stripes, NIN...that's not all of it, either. :)

I love music. It is of utmost importance to me.
Anyway, I STRONGLY recommend that you check out any of the artists in my list that you've not heard of. Sounds like my tastes aren't TOO far off from yours.
A lot of them are newer acts, too. Good to see some excellent musical artists out there.

19. I saw them in concert in 1979
in Phoenix, Arizona, when they were at the peak of their popularity (the Live at Budokan album was selling like hotcakes, and the Dream Police album was waiting to be released). They were a fun concert. I still have several of their albums, but I never listen to them. "Big Eyes" and "Surrender" are their 2 best songs, in my opinion.

They hardly stopped to take a breath between songs. I can't remember too much else about it because those were my pot-smoking days and of course we were passing around joints. I just remember they went through all their songs one by one, with hardly any "down time" at all between songs.

or...should I say, different from any other teen angst movie you have viewed? Consider the period of time in which this took place ( but it was late 70's early 80's influence )

Do check it out, though

It was at a Six Flag park in the Dallas area. Robin Zander was drunk or something because he got mad about 3 songs into the concert. He just walked off the stage. End of the concert, period. I still like the music but that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Though I have to admit I was there for Ratt, Twisted Sister and Lita Ford. I still wonder who thought Cheap Trick headlining that bill was a good idea.

Lita Ford made quite an impression on my young, impressionable, male, teenaged mind.

I listen to their greatest hits at least once a week. My favorite song by them is "voices" I also love "reach out", but that song is exclusive to the "heavy Metal" soundtrack and not on any other of their albums.

53. I love Cheap Trick
Great power pop band. They influenced modern favs of mine like Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, The Dollyrots, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, Fountains Of Wayne..

54. I caught one of RIck's guitar picks
Kingston Fairgrounds, Kingston, NH, 1984. They shared a bill with Twisted Sister, Ratt, Lita Ford, and the Lines (a local power-pop act).

83. I admit it openly.

A fun band, with some great musicians. Not enough of them around these days.

84. From most reviews they blew away most of the bigger "cooler" bands at this year's Virgin Festival
in the DC area.

They are well past their peak but they never give the impression that they're having anything less than a good time when they're on stage.

85. Still love them, and my musical tastes are DRASTICALLY different then they were back then.
But as my buddy says, "We don't stray far from the teats we were weaned on." :)
