1. Yeah!!!

Cubbies were my grandfather's team, and I used to watch their games with him all the time. Still have a fondness for them.

(Interestng that another former Mariner manager, Bob Melvin, is the manager of the D-Backs.)

7. I have always had a soft spot for them

I saw the Dodgers play them in Wrigley back in '83, and although I was glad the Dodgers won, the Cubs earned a place in my heart with their underdog mythos and Wrigley Field's classic atmosphere.

I was crushed in '89 when they crashed in the post-season, and again 3 years ago...

And since neither the Dodgers or the Mariners (who had a better-than-expected season, yay!) made it, I am getting behind the CUBS! :D
